SDF Attorney Case Files

SDF Attorney C. J. Grisham successfully defended a SDF member falsely arrested and charged in April, 2022.  Attorney Grisham got all charges dismissed however a "woke" judge refused to return members firearm saying "I don't care what the law says your client will not get his gun back."  The judge ignored all motions refusing to rule however Attorney Grisham did not give up continuing the legal fight finally winning in September, 2025.  Members gun was returned.

SDF supports, defends, and advocates for police officers and law enforcement agencies, emphasizing their vital role in maintaining public order, safety, and the rule of law however this case video is a example of a SDF attorney fighting a biased anti-gun woke judge.

SDF attorneys are willing to challenge a judge they believe to be biased.  The law and rules of professional conduct require specific, demonstrable evidence of a judge's lack of impartiality.  SDF attorneys are not afraid of a biased judge and will fight within the law to defend a SDF member no matter how long it takes.

SDF Alabama Attorney Nicholas Sparks presented evidence that Keith Sullivan of Grove Oak, Alabama was acting in self-defense resulting in the murder charge being dropped.  Sullivan shot his ‘deranged’ neighbor in 2023.  In the first trial the jury was split 6-6 and the case was set for retrial.  Attorney Sparks and his legal team successfully convinced  the district attorney to dismiss the murder charge because it would be unlikely for any future jury to reach a unanimous decision and any continuance would be futile.

SDF Alabama Attorney Nicholas Sparks is defending Keith Sullivan accused of murder.  New York Attorney Thomas Kenniff famous for defending Daniel Penny accused of murder on the  New York subway assisted Alabama Attorney Sparks.  Also, Former Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell is helping the Keith Sullivan’s defense team.

SDF Attorney J.L. Carpenter represented 4 different "Open Carry Texas" and “SDF” members arrested by the police chief and their guns were confiscated.  The trial of all four resulted in a verdict of "Not Guilty" and their guns were returned.

Famous SDF New York award winning law firm of Raiser & Kenniff represented Daniel Penny in the death of Jordan Neely, 30 after Penny placed Neely in a chokehold after Neely began acting erratically on a subway car on May 1, 2023.

Penny was first charged with second-degree manslaughter and released on bond.  His trial began in October, 2024 and concluded that December.  At his first trial the jury deadlocked on the manslaughter charge so the charge was downgraded by the judge to criminally negligent homicide, under which he still faced up to 15 years in prison.

After a strong defense by the SDF attorneys on the first charge of manslaughter and the second charge of homicide the jury after hearing all the facts and seeing all the evidence made a decision resulting in Penny being acquitted of all charges on Monday 9, 2024.

Daniel Penny, a former Marine, placed Neely, a homeless man with a past history of problems,  in a chokehold because he was threatening harm to the passengers on the train.  Callers told the 911 operator that Neely tried to attack people and indicated that he would harm riders, and several witnesses testified that they were nervous and outright feared for their lives.  The SDF defense attorneys argued that Penny acted in self-defense, fearing for his safety and the safety of the other passengers, and that Neely's death was not directly caused by the chokehold.

Penny now faces a possible third trial from a civil lawsuit brought by Neely's father.  As the civil lawsuit progresses, both sides will present evidence to support their claims. The court will ultimately decide whether Penny’s actions meet the legal standards for negligence and wrongful death. Regardless of the outcome, this case will likely have lasting effects on how society addresses similar incidents in the future.
